In der Nase das gleiche Phänomen, konzentrierte schwarzbeerige Frucht, Anflug von Korinthen, noblem Schwarztee und verführerischer Lakritze. Apart und mit individueller Grösse. Im zweiten Ansatz betörende Amarena und reife Heidelbeeren. Am cremigen Gaumen mit süssem Extrakt und feinmehligem Tannin. Im Finale eine Explosion von Brombeeren und dunklen Schokonoten, grandiose Länge und endet mit perfekter Balance. Die früheste Blüte – aber die perfekte Reife erreicht! JancisRobinson.com – 17,5/20pts – TP: *Tasted blind. Deep ruby garnet. Sweet spices, cured meat and luscious brambly fruit on the nose – this is immediately evident as Tertre Roteboeuf. Ripe, full bodied and soft, it is full of charred wood and cedar. This is matched by luscious red fruit and hints of blackberry. Nutmeg and clove endure with fruit on the finish. This is another success of the idiosyncratic style here – but you have to be a fan of what the Mitjaviles are trying to achieve. I, personally, am.* - 09/2021

Vinous.com – 97 pts – AG: *The 2017 Tertre-Rôteboeuf is once again one of the wines of the year. Deep, unctuous and concentrated, the 2017 is wonderfully rich from start to finish. Inky dark cherry, chocolate, licorice and cloves all open up in the glass. The 2017 is going to need a few years to soften, as the tannins are pretty imposing, and yet all the elements are in place for it to develop into a great wine. Tertre-Rôteboeuf remains one of the most distinctive wines in all of Bordeaux. Wow.* - 03/2020

Vinous.com – 94+ pts – NM: *The 2017 Tertre-Rôteboeuf has Saint-Émilion blood pumping through its veins, although this 2017 has tones of Left Bank, subtle cigar box and smoke aromas infusing the tightly knit red fruit, a faint marine influence in the background. The palate is silky smooth on the entry with a fine line of acidity, quite savory in character with cracked black pepper and a touch of spice on the persistent finish. There is a nice "bite" to this Tertre-Rôteboeuf and it should give over 20 years of drinking pleasure.* - 02/2020
