Alter Ego de Palmer, Margaux AC (Zweitwein Cht. Palmer)
Beschreibung Decanter: Fragrant wild violets nose, wonderful weight and texture, succulence and firmness, definitely not a second wine
Beschreibung Robert Parker: For many of the classified growths in the Medoc, the quality of the second wines has soared over the last 5-6 years, and Alter Ego is no exception. The 2010 Alter Ego is the richest ever made. Relatively high in alcohol, this is a blend of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon and 49% Merlot. Thick and juicy, its black fruits intermixed with acacia flowers, camphor, and subtle smoky notes are followed by a plump, corpulent style of wine with loads of fruit, glycerin and texture.

Beschreibung Robert Parker: A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and the rest Petit Verdot, the 2010 achieved in excess of 14% natural alcohol. It exhibits a dense ruby/purple color along with a pronounced nose of underbrush, cedarwood, licorice and black currants. This attractive, elegant, mid-weight Pauillac should be drinkable early in life and last for 15+ years.

Château Beaumont, Haut Médoc AC
Beschreibung Kretschmer: 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot, Ertrag 47 hl/ha.
Beschreibung Jancis Robinson: Distinctive autumnal notes on the nose. Fresh and vital and relatively lightweight but very serious. Round and polished on the palate. Full of appeal and with just a but of leafiness to stop it being sickly. Lots of pure pleasure and confident attack here. Appetising. Sinewy.

Château Beauregard, Pomerol AC
Beschreibung Kretschmer: 75% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc; 45 hl/ha. 60% neue Barriques.
Beschreibung Robert Parker: An opaque purple-colored, dense, tannic, powerful Pomerol, the 2010 Beauregard exhibits a muscular framework, abundant tannin and impressive concentration as well as sweet fruit. Atypically backward for a Pomerol, it requires 3-5 years of cellaring and should drink well for two decades. Tasted twice.

Château Belgrave, 5ème Cru Classé Haut-Médoc
Beschreibung Robert Parker: One of the finest Belgraves I have ever tasted, this sleeper of the vintage boasts an opaque purple color along with abundant aromas of blackberries and cassis, a classy mid-palate, medium to full-bodied flavors, superb depth and crisp freshness as well as liveliness. Over recent years the large negociant firm of Dourthe has been making improvements and resurrecting the quality of this forgotten Medoc classified growth. The 2010 will benefit from 2-3 years of cellaring and should keep for 15 or more. Drink 2013-2028

Beschreibung Kretschmer: 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc; 41 hl/ha, 65% neue Barriques.
Beschreibung Robert Parker: After nearly two decades of mediocre performances, Brane Cantenac has been doing impressive work over the last decade. While the 2010 may not eclipse the 2009 or 2005, it is an exceptional wine from proprietor Henri Lurton. A dense purple color is accompanied by a floral-scented bouquet revealing notes of licorice, graphite and red as well as black currants. Layered, rich and concentrated, this impressively constructed, seamless Margaux has plenty of tannin, but it is buried under the extravagant fruit and glycerin. This rich, pure, authoritative 2010 should drink well young yet keep for 25-30+ years. Drink 2011-2041

C | ||||
Beschreibung Robert Parker: A major sleeper of the vintage from this 100-acre vineyard near Cantemerle and Giscours, the 2010 is a blend of 50% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot produced under the guidance of well-known consultant, Claude Gros. An opaque ruby/purple color is followed by sweet black raspberry, black cherry and black currant fruit notes intermixed with notions of licorice and graphite. Medium to full-bodied and supple textured, this sexy Bordeaux should be consumed over the next 5-8 years. Drink 2011-2019

Château Canon-la-Gaffeliere, St. Emilion Grand Cru Classé
Beschreibung Kretschmer: 55% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Franc, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32 Tage fermentiert, 70% neue Barriques.
Beschreibung Robert Parker: One of the first to work with the now famous Stephane Derenoncourt, proprietor Stephan von Neipperg continues to fashion some of the most consistently outstanding wines in Bordeaux. This 2010, a blend of 55% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon made from tiny yields of 28 hectoliters per hectare, achieved 14.5% natural alcohol – perhaps the highest Canon La Gaffeliere has ever achieved. Dense, sweet, open-knit black cherry, licorice, incense and cassis aromas soar from the glass of this opaque purple-colored offering. Full-bodied, pure and undeniably sexy yet larger-scaled than normal, this beautiful wine should drink well for 15 or more years. Drink 2011-2026

Château Cantenac Brown, 3ème Cru Classé Margaux
Beschreibung Kretschmer: 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot.
Beschreibung Robert Parker: One of the finest Cantenac Browns made in the last half century, the 2010 may be even more impressive than the 2009. Sweet, fat notes of blackberries, forest floor and earth emerge from this inky/purple-colored beauty. The tannins are slightly more serious and elevated than in the 2009, but the big, bold, full-bodied 2010 represents a remarkable turn around for this estate, which has now produced three straight top-flight vintages. It should drink well for 25-35 years. Drink 2011-2046.

Château Citran, Cru Bourgeois Haut-Médoc
Beschreibung Kretschmer: 55% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc.
Beschreibung Robert Parker: The Citran 10 has a very ripe, opulent bouquet with ripe black fruits, chestnut and a touch of leather, a second sample at the UGC more pure with expressive red rather than black fruits (sunny day!) The palate is medium-bodied with sharp tannins on the entry, firm grip, masculine and tannic towards the finish that is a little bony at the moment. Hopefully this will flesh out during its elevage. Tasted April 2011.

Best: 2016-2028
Beschreibung Robert Parker: The powerful 2010 is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc and the balance mostly Merlot except for dollops of Petit Verdot and Carmenere that achieved 14.5% natural alcohol - a record at Clerc Milon. An intense purple color is followed by notes of incense, creme de cassis and flowers and a broad, rich wine with superb purity, concentration and depth. This layered, expansive effort could turn out to be one of the finest this estate has ever made. Give it 3-5 years of cellaring and drink it over the following two decades. Drink 2014-2034

Château Clinet, Pomerol AC
Beschreibung Kretschmer: 85% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc, 38 hl/ha, 60% neue Barriques.
Beschreibung Neal Martin: Tasted somewhere (but I cannot remember exactly where) the Clinet 2010 has a precocious nose that soon settles in the glass: very pure dark cherry and blueberry fruit with touches of black olive and vanilla, building in intensity but remaining composed. The palate is full-bodied with ripe “clingy” tannins that do not want to let go and yet the texture of smooth and seductive. Don’t be fooled by the first half. Those tannins kick in towards the second with a surprising dry, taut, tar-tinged finish. This is a complex Clinet that will really show its true colours after bottling. Well done Ronan!

Beschreibung Kretschmer: 75% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Franc, 2% Cabernet Sauvignon. Sehr dunkles Rot. Im Duft schwere Blütentöne. Kräftige Frucht, beeindruckende Struktur.
Beschreibung Robert Parker: Consulting winemaker Dr. Alain Raynaud has produced a beautiful dense ruby/purple-colored effort offering abundant aromas of licorice, black currants, crushed rocks and flowers. Medium to full-bodied with fresh acids, high but ripe tannins and a long finish, this cuvee is usually fairly priced. It should drink well for 15+ years. [...]

Clos Haut-Peyraguey, Cru Classé Sauternes
Beschreibung Neal Martin: The Clos Haut Peyraguey has a tight, well-defined bouquet with subtle notes of honey, lime flower and brioche. The palate is medium-bodied with fine acidity and a tangible sense of tension, with touches of spice and lemongrass towards the finish. This is an intellectual Clos Haut Peyraguey that might surprise a few people after bottling.

Clos Madeleine, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru
Beschreibung Kretschmer: 75% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc.
Beschreibung Robert Parker: This tiny St.-Emilion gem has fashioned excellent wines in both 2009 and 2010. The dense ruby/purple-hued 2010 exhibits crushed rock, raspberry and blueberry notes along with an unmistakable minerality. Medium-bodied, quintessentially elegant, pure and textured, it should drink well for 12-15+ years.

Beschreibung Kretschmer: 95% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc; 30 hl/ha.; 75% neue Barriques.

Montrose*
Beschreibung Decanter: Rich smoky cassis fruit, good middle sweetness and lift, less depth than expected. Drink 2015-20.
Beschreibung Robert Parker: The estate's second wine represents 36% of the production in 2010. Composed of two-thirds Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot, it is one of the finest examples of this cuvee I have yet tasted. Intense blueberry and cassis fruit intertwined with floral notes, a plump, unctuous texture and abundant fruit characterize this seductive, fleshy wine. Consume it over the next 10-15 years. Beschreibung Kretschmer: 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 40% neues Holz.

Château Ducru Beaucaillou, 2ème Cru Classé St. Julien
Beschreibung Kretschmer: 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot.
Beschreibung Neal Martin: Cropped between 29th September until 14th October, a blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot, the nose takes some coaxing from the glass. Very pure blackberry, cassis, a touch of mint and cedar, the new oak lending a touch of vanilla, this is very opulent, yet controlled bouquet. The palate is medium-bodied with saturated, velvety tannins, a real caressing mouthfeel, very good acidity to maintain freshness with an exceptionally focused, almost Pauillac-like finish. Very long in the mouth with a citric edge lingering long after the wine is ejected. Tasted March 2011.

Château Faugères, Saint Emilion Grand Cru
Beschreibung Kretschmer: 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Beschreibung Robert Parker: This estate, which was purchased a few years ago by Swiss entrepreneur Silvio Denz, continues to push the envelop and improve on what was already an impressive group of wines from previous proprietress Corinne Guisez. From a 50-acre vineyard in the commune of St.-Christophe des Bardes, the 2010 is a blend of 85% Merlot and the rest mostly Cabernet Franc and a small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon. Perhaps the most powerful wine ever made at Faugeres, it tips the scales at 15% alcohol. Both Michel Rolland and Stephan von Neipperg consult at this estate. The 2010's dense blue/purple color is followed by notes of creosote, toasty new oak, licorice, blueberry liqueur and cassis. This dense, opulent, full-bodied, massive effort is surprisingly civilized and intense. It should drink well for 10-15 years.

Château de Fieuzal -rouge- Grand Cru Classé Pessac-Léognan
Beschreibung Kretschmer: 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot.
Beschreibung Robert Parker: This is a rare instance where an estate’s 2008 may be better than their 2010. The latter wine possesses plenty of super-ripe red and black fruits as well as hints of graphite, crushed rocks and white flowers. There is elegant minerality and a medium-bodied palate, but copious tannins kick in in the finish. Five to seven years of cellaring will be essential for this structured, masculine effort.

Beschreibung Robert Parker: Now American-owned, Fonplegade has been pushing the envelop of high quality over recent vintages. The full-bodied, powerful 2010 reveals intense, concentrated red and black fruit characteristics, undeniable minerality, a perfumed style and authoritative flavors that linger on the palate. The tannins are noticeable, so this wine will benefit from 5-6 years of cellaring and keep for at least two decades. Drink 2016-2036

Beschreibung Robert Parker: A consistent winner from Bourg, the dark plum-colored 2010 Fougas-Maldoror possesses chocolatey, spicy, black cherry fruit intermixed with truffle/earthy notes. Medium-bodied with a slight bite of tannin and good acidity, it should drink well for 5-7 years.

Château Gazin, Pomerol AC
Beschreibung Kretschmer: 86% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc.
Beschreibung Robert Parker: Tasted at the Syndicat de Pomerol. Gazin has been on form in recent vintages. The 2010 has a very pure bouquet with superb lift and purity: black cherries and raspberry, crushed stone underneath. The palate is full-bodied with grippy tannins, very good acidity, compact and masculine, huge weight on the finish, great length and ambition. Superb.

Château Giscours, 3ème Cru Margaux
Beschreibung Kretschmer: Leider keine Asemblage erhalten.

Beschreibung Kretschmer: 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 46 hl/ha, 38% neue Barriques. Sehr dunkles Schwarzkirschrot.
Beschreibung Robert Parker: A sensational effort, the 2010 Gloria may turn out to be the finest wine they have made since 1982, although the 2009 is a serious contender for that honor as well. A bigger than life as well as more backward than normal offering, the 2010 exhibits an inky/purple color along with an opulent display of black currants, jammy cherries, licorice, cedar and roasted herbs. Some serious tannin gives the wine grip, but this is a full-bodied, big, thick, well-proportioned, super-endowed Gloria that will benefit from 2-3 years of cellaring and keep for two decades.

Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste, 5ème Cru Classé Pauillac
Beschreibung Robert Parker: The greatest Grand Puy Lacoste since the 2005, 2000 and 1990, the fabulous 2010 reveals all the hallmarks of this estate. It boasts a dense purple color along with classic notes of creme de cassis, blueberries, blackberries, crushed rocks and flowers, sweet tannin and an exceptionally full-bodied and multilayered mouthfeel as well as a boatload of tannin. Cellar it for a decade and drink it over the following three decades. Proprietor Xavier Borie’s 2010 recalls the 2005. Drink 2021-2051
Beschreibung Neal Martin: A blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon and 17% Merlot, the Grand Puy Lacoste '10 has 13.6% alcohol with a total acidity of around 3.5gms/L. It has a very complex bouquet that I leave over 5 minutes to open, developing ripe blackberry, cassis, oyster shell and a faint tang of Japanese nori (seaweed.) Very good complexity. The palate is beautifully balanced, this GPL revelling in this vintage that countenances the Cabernet Sauvignon so much. Very refined, powerful, beautifully focused with an unerring sense of symmetry. This is a magnificent Pauillac…bravo Xavier. Drink 2020-

Beschreibung Kretschmer: 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc, 37 hl/ha.
Beschreibung Robert Parker: Proprietor Robert Wilmers and general manager/winemaker Veronique Sanders have done an extraordinary job at this estate, which has now become one of the superstars of Bordeaux as recent vintages have admirably demonstrated. An opulently styled effort, the blue/purple-hued 2010 offers a sweet kiss of graphite, charcoal, black cherries, black currants and compelling forest floor-like notes. A seamless integration of acidity, tannin, alcohol and oak is found in this full-bodied yet delicate, precise 2010. There is plenty of tannin but it is well-hidden behind the extravagant quantity of fruit. Give it 5-7 years and drink it over the following 35-40 years. Drink 2016-2056

Château Haut-Batailley, 5ème Cru Pauillac
Beschreibung Robert Parker: This is always the most St.-Julien-like of the Pauillacs (although occasionally Pichon-Lalande possesses a suave, St.-Julian character and less power than many Pauillacs). The dark ruby/purple-hued 2010 reveals sweet aromas of red and black currants, cedar and spicy background oak. It is an attractive, elegant, mid-weight wine with polished tannins as well as a restrained style. Drink it over the next 10-15 years.
Beschreibung Neal Martin: The Haut-Batailley '10 is a blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon and 22% Merlot. It has what you might describe as a very “natural” bouquet with wild blackberry, raspberry, just a touch of pencil lead and wet limestone. Not an intense nose, but very well defined. The palate is medium-bodied with very precise tannins, good acidity, just a little hardness at the front-palate, but this will soften. The backbone is very impressive, the finish very masculine, classic, the Cabernet Sauvignon dominating and imparting great purity and expression of terroir. Superb. As always, one of Pauillac's over-looked gems. Drink 2017-2040.

Château d'Issan, 3ème Cru Margaux
Beschreibung Robert Parker: Emmanuel Cruse has done a superb job at this moated castle on the southern approach to the appellation of Margaux. The dense blue/purple-tinged 2010 reveals notes of violets, blue and black fruits, a striking minerality, excellent purity, texture and length, a medium to full-bodied mouthfeel and noticeable but sweet, well-integrated tannins. It should drink well in 5-6 years and last 25-35. Drink 2016-2051
Beschreibung Neal Martin: A blend of 39% Merlot and 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, cropped between 27th September and 14th October at 42hl/ha representing 53% of the crop, clocking 13.7% and a pH 3.81. It has a tightly-coiled, mineral-rich bouquet with blackberry, wild hedgerow, a touch of blueberry and crushed violet. Good definition and very controlled. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins on the entry, a little earthy with some sous-bois and cigar box emanating from the ripe Cabernet, good weight but not overbearing towards the finish. Very natural. This is not a show-stopping wine, but a d'Issan that you will gladly have on your table and deserves several years cellaring.

Château La Dominique, St. Emilion Grand Cru Classé
Beschreibung Kretschmer: 77% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Franc.
Beschreibung Robert Parker: Probably the finest La Dominique made since the wonderful duo of 1989 and 1990, the explosively fruity, dense purple-hued 2010 offers notes of licorice, roasted herbs, truffles, black raspberries and blueberry liqueur. Full-bodied and unctuously textured with sweet tannin as well as good freshness and precision, it should drink well for 15-20 years. P. S. The final blend was 77% Merlot and 23% Cabernet Franc that achieved 14.5% natural alcohol. Drink 2011-2031

Beschreibung Robert Parker: The 2010 is a strong effort from this historically underachieving Pomerol thanks in part to the owners hiring well-known consultant Hubert de Bouard. A blend of 84% Merlot and 16% Cabernet Franc that hit 14% natural alcohol reveals copious notes of sweet caramel, smoke, black cherry liqueur, Asian plum sauce and subtle background oak. Opaque ruby/purple-colored, medium to full-bodied and well-endowed it should drink nicely for 10-15+ years. Drink 2011-2026

Beschreibung Kretschmer: 52% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot. Gefiel mir eindeutig besser als der 2009er. Der höhere Anteil an Merlot bringt schöne, reife Frucht. Schokoladige Töne fallen auf.
Beschreibung Robert Parker: From their 180 acres, this large estate fashioned a blend of 53% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon and small quantities of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Harvested over a three week period (September 29 - October 17), it is a big, tannic, nearly over-sized wine boasting a dense purple color along with notes of graphite, blueberries, black raspberries and spring flowers. Great fruit on the attack, a powerful, full-bodied mouthfeel and an unusually masculine, muscular style suggest this 2010 will require patience, but it could turn out to be one of the finest La Tour Carnets ever produced. Beschreibung Kretschmer: Leider keine Assemblage erhalten. In der Farbe fast schwarz. Im Duft reich und vielfältig. Reife Tanninstruktur.
Beschreibung Robert Parker: Proprietor Basile Tesseron may have produced his finest Lafon Rochet to date. The 2010's inky/blue/purple color is followed by a distinctive bouquet of spring flowers, blueberry pie, blackberry liqueur and crushed rocks. Although a classified growth, this wine is an undeniable sleeper of the vintage as its price remains reasonable. The wine possesses terrific structure, ripe tannins and a voluminous, broad, deep impression on the palate. The fruit intensity, purity and richness suggest 4-5 years of cellaring will be required and the wine will last for 20+ years.

Beschreibung Robert Parker: Lagrange's relatively new winemaking team appears to have backed off the aggressive oak regime and the result is a wine with better overall balance. Still a backward, muscular/masculine style of St.-Julien, it reveals abundant tannin along with a subtle hint of vanillin intermixed with lead pencil shavings, white chocolate, black currant and cassis characteristics. Although less expressive than some of its 2010 peers, it is a big, powerful, rich wine that needs a decade of cellaring. It should last for 30 years. Drink 2021-2051

Beschreibung Neal Martin: A dark plum/ruby/purple color is accompanied by hints of graphite, blueberries, tobacco and herbs in this medium to full-bodied 2010. Beschreibung Robert Parker: The strongest vintage from Latour-Martillac since their 2005, this dense purple-colored 2010 offers up notes of black currants, graphite, smoke and earth. Beschreibung Robert Parker: The 2010 Leoville Barton was almost impossible to evaluate because of its highly extracted, masculine, muscular style. However, it exhibits a dense purple color along with surprising amounts of oak, excruciatingly painful tannin levels, good acidity and a massive mouthfeel. Beschreibung Kretschmer: 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot.
Beschreibung Robert Parker: Pontet-Canet's 2010 harvest took place between September 29 and October 17 (this vineyard is one of the few in Bordeaux that is fully certified as biodynamic) and the final blend was 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot that achieved nearly 15% natural alcohol. A remarkable, full-bodied effort (as was the estate’s 2009 and 2008), like so many recent vintages from proprietor Alfred Tesseron, it is of first-growth quality (some may even argue that it eclipses several first-growths). Dense purple to the rim, it offers classic notes of creme de cassis, graphite, subtle smoke and spring flowers. Multidimensional with massive concentration as well as vivid purity, precision and freshness, this is another astonishing effort from an obsessive/compulsive proprietor who is doing everything right. On the downside, this 2010 will require a decade of cellaring and should evolve for 50+ years. It will be fascinating to drink it side by side with the 2009 and 2008. Drink 2021

Château Potensac, Cru Bourgeois Médoc
Beschreibung Robert Parker: Traditionally made, yet exhibiting some modern touches such as ripe fruit, the 2010 Potensac is another sleeper of the vintage from this estate, owned by Jean-Hubert Delon, the proprietor of Leoville Las Cases. Classic Bordeaux notes of red and black currants, earth, and spice box are well-presented in this deep ruby/purple-colored, medium-bodied wine, which should drink nicely for a decade or more. Drink 2011-2021
Beschreibung Neal Martin: The Potensac '10 is a blend of 42% Merlot, 37% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot including 9.3% vin de presse. It offers 13.6% alcohol with a pH of 3.55. There is just a slight sense of sur-maturité on the nose perhaps from the Merlot, just a hint of prune. Not over the top but it is just there. The palate is full-bodied with succulent grippy tannins...a huge Potensac that is redeemed but very silky finish. Long in the mouth, one of the few 2010's that actually reminds me of the 2009. Tasted March 2010.

Château Poujeaux, Cru Bourgeois Superieur, Moulis
Beschreibung Kretschmer: Aus 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot. Mittleres Kirschrot.
Beschreibung Robert Parker: An undeniable sleeper of the vintage, this may be the finest Poujeaux I have tasted in three decades. A crushed rock/mineral character is intertwined with abundant black currant, blackberry, incense and camphor notes in this full-bodied, unctuously textured, elegant, pure effort. It is capable of lasting 15 years. Kudos to new proprietor Philippe Cuvelier (also the owner of St.-Emilion's Clos Fourtet) for resurrecting this well-known estate. Drink 2011-2026

Château Prieuré Lichine, 4ème Cru Classé Margaux
Beschreibung Kretschmer: 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot; 32 hl/ha.
Beschreibung Robert Parker: The strongest Prieure Lichine produced in many years, along with consultant Stephane Derenoncourt, the proprietors have fashioned a wine with true opulence as well as wonderful projected aromatics of blue, red and black fruits, licorice, flowers and subtle oak. Silky tannins, a sexy, generous, opulent attack, mid-palate and finish, no hard edges and well-integrated acidity, tannin and alcohol (14.5%) are all found in this impressive Margaux. Give it 2-5 years of cellaring and drink it over the following 25. It is potentially one of the longest lived wines made at Prieure Lichine since some of their classic efforts from the sixties. Château Sociando-Mallet, Cru Bourgeois Haut-Médoc
Beschreibung Robert Parker: The classic 2010 displays everything one expects from this over-achieving Haut-Medoc. A dense purple color is followed by aromas of blueberries, black currants, graphite and crushed rocks, a layered, full-bodied mouthfeel, stunning concentration and sweet, more polished and refined tannins than are normally found in barrel samples of Sociando Mallet. This cuvee should last for 20-30 years. Drink 2011-2041
Beschreibung Jancis Robinson: Lively and racy and with more than a hint of young oak! Sweet start and very polished palate. Chewy finish but with lots and lots of sweet fruit. Well done! Quite luscious, very like a fine St-Estèphe. Drink 2017-2027.

Château Suduiraut, 1er Cru Sauternes -0,375 l-
Beschreibung Decanter: Super nose with some exotic pineapple/mango/passion fruit undertones mixed with Vouvray-like blossom-tree and quince jelly, enormous body, but incredible purity and crystal-like transparency, great length, a masterpiece! Drink 2020-2070.
Beschreibung Jancis Robinson: Tasted blind 4 Apr: Rich and subtle on the nose; it already feels heavy in the glass. Very big and bold. Spicy. One of the sweetest and it seems to be interesting too! Very rich for a 2010. RS 142 g/l, TA 3.8 g/l. Tasted 7 Apr: Mid pale gold. Broad and rich and fresh but with very ripe pear-juice notes. There is real weight here. Much less citrus peel than most other 2010 Sauternes. Real race. Dangerously delicious now. Long. Super clean. Medium to heavy weight. Great undertow. Long. Nervy. Drink 2022-2040

Château Talbot, St. Julien 4ème Cru Classé
Beschreibung Kretschmer: 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot.
Beschreibung Robert Parker: Abundant amounts of sweet, up-front fruit give this wine a precocious appeal compared to many of its brethren. It exhibits a dense plum/ruby/purple hue along with sweet boysenberry, black currant, cherry, smoke and licorice aromas and flavors. This deep, medium to full-bodied, classic Talbot should be approachable when released, and age effortlessly for 15 or more years.

Beschreibung Robert Parker: A blend of 86% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc and 7% Cabernet Sauvignon [Anm. JI: beruhigend, dass auch Profis sowas passiert *g*] cropped between 27th September and 5th October, the Vieux Chateau Certan delivers 14.5% alcohol with a pH of 3.7. It is presently being raised in 75% new oak. The nose is very refined with touches of blackberry, raspberry, black truffle and dark cherries with wonderful delineation considering the alcohol level. The palate is very well balanced with beautiful poise, perhaps more focused than the 2009 at this stage. Wonderful mineralité, there is superb precision and energy is this nascent VCC. Just superb!

Beschreibung Robert Parker: Another impressive Fronsac, Villars' 2010 possesses an extra level of concentration as well as a dense purple color, hints of graphite, spring flowers, blue and black fruits, good tannin, sweet fruit and a lingering finish.
