Jim Murray´s Whisky Bible 2019 – 91 pts: *Nose 22.5, taste 23.5, finish 22.5, balance and overall complexity 23.5. This new bottling still proudly carries the Fisherman´s Friend cough sweet character, but the coastal, saline properties here are a notch or three up: far more representative of Islay and the old distillery style. Easily by far the trues Bowmore I have tasted in a long while with myriad complexity. Even going back more than a quarter of a century, the malt at this age rarely showed such relaxed elegance. Most enjoyable.*

Jim Murray´s Whisky Bible 2021 – 86.5 pts: *Nose 22, taste 22, finish 21, balance and overall complexity 21.5. This is some surprise package. With the phenol level being markedly down on the last bottle of this I encountered and the oils wearing thin long before the end – not assisted by the 40% abv – this Bowmore never quite gets going. Perhaps the midpoint has something to latch on to and thoroughly enjoy where the peat and oils do find accord. But it is far too short-lived.*
